New Studio!!

Posted by Thomas Enos on Monday, December 14, 2009,

It is a ten minute bike ride from my house and half way in between is The Linden Street Brewery!! That part of Oakland, west of the 880 freeway and along the estuary is the heart of Old Oakland. I have 4 generations in my family that have fished, worked, and lived in that very part of town and I am proud to make my art on sacred ground. By...

Posted by Thomas Enos on Wednesday, October 14, 2009,
I have new drawing I am making to share. They are small in size but I tend to make some large graphic paintings from them. They are pretty disgusting, but I am not sure why. Maybe it is all the goo and references to cartoon body parts. Who knows.

Installation A Success!

Posted by Thomas Enos on Thursday, August 6, 2009,

Thank you for all who came out to the Artificial Nature show. It was a tremendous success thanks to Autobody Fine Art and especially Jaqueline Cooper who put the whole thing together. It was a demanding install and it hopefully paid off. I am right now working on documenting the work right now, though is not an easy thing. In the next week I will have pictures of the new work available on the website.

Also, I was featured in the Oakland Tribune last Sunday, August 2nd. It was a great artic...

In The Driveway

Posted by Thomas Enos on Friday, June 12, 2009,
Lately my driveway has been my studio. It is sufficient and I get to enjoy why I live in the Bay Area. I have made a mess for all of my housemates for sure. I have collected many found objects to obscure and to create new modes of communication. I wanted to take small found objects and have an intimate relationship with them, creating a moment in time and visual language that quickly gets lost with the plethora of objects that pass through our lives. Also I have created my own false realities...

"You can’t make art by making art"

David Ireland
August 25, 1935 - May 18th 2009

A self-described "post-discipline" artist guided by Zen thought and postmodern aesthetics, David Ireland was a beacon of artistic practice and conceptual action. Through his great fame and talent he gave a face to Bay Area Conceptual Art.  His practice was a direct reflection of living and working in San Francisco and Oakland area. All Bay Area owe many thanks to David and his work. What was great about David Ire...
